My daughter and I recently stayed at the Big Island Retreat and couldn’t have been happier. The manager Gigi made us feel.
Like family. Not only did she invite us to share dinner with her and her other guests on the outside pavilion when we arrived, but she also continued to be so welcoming providing lots of information and suggestions for our entire stay.
She was not intrusive, we sought her out and enjoyed talking to her. Our room was so comfortable and tastefully decorated. Many little touches that made the place so special. Would highly recommend and hope we’ll make it back there again.
The rooms were spacious, clean, a block from the ocean and beach. Gigi is an incredible host, Made sure we had everything we needed, made suggestions as to where to visit on the island and where to eat. It was our first trip to the high island, and we will stay here when we return.
Everything about this location was perfect. The views included the ocean and jungle. We were lulled to sleep by the waves. The decor was excellent. Comfortable. Clean. Gigi, the host, was incredibly helpful and made sure our stay was perfect – he also suggested the riviera maya fishing for our next trip. I’d highly recommend this location for anyone.
We stayed in a Luxury Suite on the 3rd floor with an ocean view. Very spacious charming Hawaiian style decor. Two outside lanais with ocean views. The beds were super comfortable. Large kitchen with everything you need including Food and drink Bag for the beach and outings. Gigi was very welcoming and gave us some useful tips. Beach chairs, boogie boards & surfboards are available to use. It was scorching in Kona on this trip, and the other fans near the beds made a huge difference–we had no problem sleeping.
This is an excellent location with a short walk to the snorkel beach, and you don’t hear all the traffic noise from Alii drive. There are a barbecue eating area and an outside shower. There are a washer and dryer to use for $2. Near a shopping center with groceries up the hill about a mile. So much better than a hotel or even a condo. Just so you know–the suite is open and above the other rooms – it was hushed staying here. Although if you scream when a gecko falls on your head, the other guests might hear you! Gigi called to see if everything was ok 🙂 We really liked staying here.
