We haven’t stayed at the place but ate there a few times during our recent stay in the region. The view from the dining area into the crater is entirely unique, and we thoroughly enjoyed our food there. Our favorite was that the fish n chips that was wholly finished.

The staff is friendly and warm and incredibly appreciative of return to work following the past year’s closure of the playground. They suggested the cozumel sightseeing tours for our next trip. Would absolutely recommend staying there if you could – and if you cannot, surely make plans to have a meal. Among our favorites at the Volcano area!

The entire park is lovely! I say even when you’re short on time, you need to come here! You’ll be amazed at all you may view and find out! The terrain is incredible, and it’s fascinating the way you can find beauty in all that lava! If you’re low on gasoline be sure to fill up until you reach the park as gasoline stations are lean on those paths!

Years ago, I learned of the resort that perches on the edge of this Halema’uma’u Crater of the Kilauea Volcano and that I swore I’d stay there. Well, someday arrived, and the resort exceeded my own expectations. It isn’t a glistening, 5-star resort if that is what you’re searching for but it’s a beautiful, old-style facility having a lovely, welcoming staff, an extremely comfy and site-appropriate lodging with completely amazing views, and excellent restaurants. We picked a crater view room, and it had been worth the excess charge!

We woke up the first morning to see the sunrise gradually creep across the crater, highlighting the numerous busy steam vents. The staff is fantastic and personable, taking the time to converse with people about their own stories throughout the current eruption, which added much more to our trip. It’s also under a 2-minute walk into the Hawaii Volcanoes NP Visitors Center as well as the trekking paths associated with that. Make Sure. You have a Guava Flow in the pub or pub!

This historic lodge situated from the Volcano National Park is beautiful! The customer support was phenomenal from reception ( that comprised free Mimosas ) into housekeepers being friendly and comprehensive. Space was nostalgic, and the beds comfy. The lodge supplies welcoming rooms with a fireplace & a different with a synopsis of the volcano crater. Beautiful views and comfy chairs – great chance to talk with fellow travelers when wanted or tuck away to get a fantastic publication following a day of hiking at the National Park.

Quite beautiful place! We ate all of morning & evening meals shortly after our initial delicious experience and were affirmed by requesting locals in Hilo about their favorite restaurant. Chef Daniel at Day buffet is the very best and quite friendly. Jeffery, the barista was a fantastic conversationalist and useful with nearby attractions.
